Cabbage Soup Diet
This diet uses green cabbage as pretty much the only ingredient. You eat this over a period of seven days.
You can lose up to 10 pounds in a week. But the big issue with this diet is that much of the weight that comes off is probably water. We know this because most people put the weight straight back on.
But when you consider everything, this diet is OK because it’s designed to be followed only for a single week. Do not go any longer than that or you’ll risk malnutrition.
The Low GI Diet
Every type of food has a glycemic index. With this diet you eat low GI foods. This means they deliver their energy more slowly.
The low GI diet works well. You prevent hunger pangs by cutting out the high GI foods (refined, white foods) that otherwise spike your glucose levels.
Overall this is a good diet but there is one disadvantage. The weight loss is not particularly fast compared to other diets.
My Diet
It is possible to lose a lot of weight and quickly. I know this because I lost 44 pounds in 4 months and did it in a different way than most people.
First, I listened to my hunger. I only eat if I am hungry (sometimes you think you are but you are not). I also stop eating when I am no longer hungry. I never feel “full” anymore.
Second, I started eating slightly better. I eat much more fruit now, especially for breakfast. But I can still eat junk food when I feel like it.
