Kids Soccer Drills

In kids soccer drills, it’s a known fact that the coach’s faults bring the teams to a point, from where it’s near impossible to get back on to the winning track. Yes, it is true. Most of you might wonder as to what can be so big that puts the team on a loosing streak. Then let me tell you, there can be numerous causes.

You will have to work very watchfully and advantageously in designing soccer drills for kids. Make it a point to know and value psychology of the kids. Communicate with them in a way that suits their age level. But sadly, most coaches are not ready to adapt to this. They do not appreciate the difference between coaching the kids and coaching mature players.

So this is it; let me share some blunders that coaches make which reduce their teams to rubble.

1. A lot of them consider their jobs as casual work. They do not plan the sessions, prepare the drills, or bother about reaching the field in time. All these are not only bad traits but put off the kids too. Just like the kids, you too should get serious about soccer. Make arrangements for youth soccer drills beforehand. Arrange for various equipments needed to perform the drills before-hand.

Be punctual. Don’t be the one to reach the field later than the kids. In fact, you should be on the track before the kids arrive. This will also give you some time to rehearse the drills or arrange for things.

2. When coaches give instructions for kids soccer drills, they get so carried away by their emotions that they keep going on and on. Can you believe how boring that can be? You must appreciate that kids are more eager to play than hearing long speeches. Keep your words of wisdom brief and straight forward. Use this talk to motivate the kids and increase their confidence.

It is extremely vital that the kids are not interrupted while playing. If you have observed anything that needs to be corrected, note it and discuss it after the drill. And stand outside the field when the kids are playing.

3. Some coaches get ruthless and unkind while dealing with the kids. In soccer drills for youth, this can prove to be catastrophic. It is bad to display weak behaviour on the soccer field. It is fine for the kids to make errors. Never forget that they are very young. Never take things very critically and make it an excuse to get bad with the players.

When this happens, you are making the kids loose interest and also making things difficult for yourself. Soccer is a game of the intelligent. Help the kids understand this so that they get inspired by you.

Just don’t let these problems of kids soccer drills affect you and you are a winner. If you need more information on what the behavior of the coaches should be like, join our youth soccer coaching community. You will be amazed by the rise in your knowledge.
