There is always a lot of confusion about what colon cleansing means and what kind of colon cleansing products you should use. As a matter of fact, I have from time to time actually bought a colon cleansing package and let it sit on my shelf for a month or more. Most probably I was waiting for a handy time to use it. But I know it was just unwillingness to try something new. Do you do the exact same thing?

You know your colon is found at the very end of your digestive system, right? Part of your colon is cleaned out whenever you have a bowel movement. Yet to cleanse your colon is more than just a normal everyday shedding of solid wastes.

Let’s consider the steps involved in digesting food in your body. First you mix up your food with salive and chop it up by chewing it in your mouth. And then the food mixture passes through your esophagus and into your stomach. Specific enzymes break the food down further into components your body can access at the cellular level. The absorption of nutrients happens in your small intestines where they spread the molecules of food into your bloodstream to be circulated all over your body so every cell can be nourished.

Any solids that usually are not absorbed are passed into your large intestines. The primary work of your large intestine is to remove excess moisture. Then the waste is expelled from your body. Throughout the structure of your intestines there are thousands of tiny villae (like little fingers) that increase the surface area to be better able to perform the absorption process. It’s in the little folded parts of your intestines, that many particles become stuck.

These particles form a crust that reduces nutrient absorption. Particles that stay inside will begin to decay too and that builds up toxins. Those toxins and impacted wastes are what you are trying to eliminate from your body with a colon cleanse.

When you think about it you have 3 ways to cleanse your colon. Ingest more water and fiber. Take a laxative. Or have a colonic irrigation. An enema is one simple way to irrigate your colon. But it has its risks too. You know you can become dependent upon the chemical based laxatives. That would cause you to develop a lazy colon to compound your problems. It is possible to irritate or puncture the walls of your intestines by an enema that has been done without the proper care. So your wisest choice is the simplest and also the first plan to cleanse your colon.

In fact we have learned that lots of people use colon cleansing products to assist them with their weight loss journey. Some people shed several pounds of unwanted old waste as a part of their colon cleanse. Of course that feels especially rewarding for them. However colon cleansing products ought not to be the only method you are doing to manage your weight. That would not be a healthy choice.

Now that I have told you about it, possibly I will find the courage I need to have to simply move forward and “get on with it”. Look over the directions and abide by them. That really should be simple. Many thanks for being attentive. I really hope this will help you start on a healthier path as well!
