With jobs to go to, businesses to run, kids to put to bed, homework to check, dishes to get done, and wives to spend time with, it’s really difficult for most dads to find time to workout. The easiest way I’ve found to stay in shape is to practice body weight exercises, including isometrics and plyometrics. Here’s why you should be doing body weight exercises if you’re a busy dad…

Effectiveness – If you’re wondering how effective body weight exercises are, just ask the firemen, police officers, elite fighters, and special forces commandos who do them on a daily basis. They won’t be the biggest guys you’ll ever come across, but they’ll be among the strongest. And that’s the only thing that matters. If you feel like you’re starting to plateau, you can add weights, increase the reps and do variations. You can use weighted vests to add more resistance to your situps, pullups, etc.

Efficiency – Body weight exercises are both effective and economical, so there’s no excuse not to do them. Just think, you can finally start saving for that pony your daughter has always wanted! Not only are body weight exercises and isometrics financially efficient, they are time efficient too. In certain martial arts there is a big emphasis on “economy of movement”, meaning you shouldn’t exert energy on something if it’s not necessary to do so. Focus on the task before you and complete it with the least amount of effort.

Speed – Body weight and isometric exercises are fast. It is said that an isometric contraction can last for as little as 7 seconds for you to benefit from doing it. Isometrics, when done properly, recruit more muscle fibers than more isolated exercises, leading to more strength. If you stay focused, your full workout can be completed in under 30 minutes.

Obviously, lifting weights is important if you want to get stronger and build lots of muscle. If we could spare an hour for the gym everyday we would. But with a lifestyle that makes staying fit so difficult, body weight training is the best route for the rest of us.

There’s a simple method for explaining soccer practice; no rules to follow. You can experiment, create your own drills and games, and innovate, and so on. You’ve probably heard it a hundred times that practice makes a man perfect. I’m not sure about others, but it’s certainly true for soccer practice sessions. Every day kids get to the field hoping to do something new and exciting. Yet, it is extremely important in soccer training that they keep practicing old techniques that you teach them regularly.

Here’s your test to ensure that kids are not bogged down by the sameness of the drills that they are made to do on a daily basis. Given below are certain tricks that’ll allow you to execute practice sessions in a disciplined, expected, and an attractive way.

1. This has been emphasized enough. You are the kid’s instructor and therefore they will imitate your actions. You should reach the filed on dot, illustrate your ability to tackle the ball, engage everyone in drills, and organize sound practice sessions. You’ll get to earn your players respect, their confidence and trust in you.

2. Tell the kids to come to the field daily with a ball of their own. It is mandatory that every kid has a soccer ball. You should be having some extra balls in case some kids forget theirs.
