She walked into her inner office and sat down at her computer workstation desk. Opening the file of each client who was in group today, she began to write about her first impression of them. Her computer encrypted all files to keep them confidential. She shook her head, more than a little concerned about two of the clients benefiting from a group situation. Well, she thought, the next weeks would reveal if it brought about change for them.

They were all affected by phobias of some type. OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder) was indicated and one of the females was intermittently blurting out sentences and her ability to segue was nonexistent. The plan was for everyone to benefit and contribute something during group interaction. It was expected that they would help themselves and each other during the course of six weeks of therapy.

The last client to enter the office earlier had been wearing a black helmet. She had welcomed him and quite naturally, asked what kind of motorcycle he drove. Clark, the man under the helmet said, ‘motorcycle?’

She managed to keep a straight face and offered tea or coffee to everyone. Next she gave them her name and explained briefly how the sessions were expected to proceed. She asked them to give their names one at a time. Edgar told them gruffly who he was. Allen and Ann were next. Lenore was the last one to speak. She immediately interjected the fact she loved oceans.

Edgar sarcastically said he was thrilled to know that. The therapist started to talk about the next topic. She asked Edgar if he’d like to speak first. He was still sarcastic as he described his fool of a neighbor who had allowed a newspaper to blow in the wind and land on his lawn. It was an inconsiderate act he said.

It turned out this incident had happened about a year earlier. Allen smirked as he said it was a long time to stay so mad. Edgar got angry and said he was careful about his grass. Lenore didn’t think it was all that important. She thought it might have been an accident. Edgar said it wasn’t, it was intentional.

Both women in the group were holding small blankets on their laps. Now Ann hid her face in the blanket and started to cry. The therapist urged Edgar to speak in a quiet voice. She asked Ann to tell them why she was so upset. Lenore said it was Edgar’s fault.Lenore didn’t answer and the session continued. Ann said she always wanted to hide too if someone sounded mad. They continued to talk until the fifty minute hour ended. The therapist walked them to the door and said she would see them next week. Three out of five said goodbye pleasantly. Edgar wasn’t one of them.

 

It starts in October with the Halloween candy. Next is Thanksgiving in November. Immediately after is Christmas. During this time the weather is cold. Instead of exercising, we are eating even more. We all make vows to start the diet in January but right away comes Valentines Day and everyone is giving you chocolates. After the chocolates are gone, suddenly the house is filled with jelly beans and marshmallow rabbits. By this time it does not matter. Our figures are already gone.

It has finally come time to keep that mouth closed except to eat vegetables and drink water. Oh, and buying mountain bike. This is the perfect solution. You do have other choices. You can either walk for twice as long or you can run. Since not many people can run easily, and walking just takes too darn long, biking becomes the best option.

If you bicycle at about 12 mph, you can burn twice that.  While running burns twice as much as cycling, it is very hard.  Running for more than a minute is difficult for most people.  Cycling is the perfect medium.

losing weight means to eat less and burn extra calories through exercise. If you are embarrassed to exercise in public, buy a some black pants, a black helmet and ride in the evening. As you start to get more confident, try using you bike for as many errands as you can. Going to mail letters is a perfect reason to take the bike out.

There are only positive things about riding. It is a safe exercise. It allows you to commute. You save money on gas. You help the environment. You get extra endorphins. You can easily and comfortable lose two pounds a week. If you want to help your diet even more, try using a protein shake that you can blend with hand mixers.

Tell everyone that you are busy during your exercise time. Try to ride at least everyday. You never know when you may not be able to ride. So if you ride everyday, you will not have lost a day because you were sick or it was raining. One hour a day is a perfect amount of time to exercise. The people who tell you to exercise three days a week for thirty minutes are telling you the bare minimum.

If you bike ride for one hour six days a week without eating less, you can lose exactly one pound. Can you dedicate yourself to one hour a day, six days a week? By the way, if you can shave off an additional 600 calories a day, you can lose two pounds a week. Riding is a very enjoyable and easy way to lose weight.

 

You might be thinking about increasing your muscle growth but not want to be stuck in the gym all the time. There are many other ways you can get your exercise. If you prefer to be outdoors, you can still achieve your goals.

One thing that many people do along with their gym workouts is to take supplements to help them build up their muscles. One such product is protein powder. Food as well as supplements are important to ensure that you are building muscle as well as burning fat.

Beyond the nutritional considerations, just pick an exercise that you enjoy and go do it. The most important thing is that you consistently work at it. And you will be far more likely to do that if you are doing an activity you enjoy.

One activity that will get you out in the fresh air and exercising is hiking. This is, of course, mostly going to work out your legs. However, you can hike with the use of poles and this will give you some upper body work also.

An exercise that does a good job of working on both upper and lower body is swimming. In some cases, you might be able to use an outdoor pool which will get you out in the sun. But even an indoor one will at least give you an alternative to weight routines that can get boring.

Or, you might want to take up mountain biking in order to spend more time outdoors. If you really like it, you will need to get the right equipment, such as a Schwinn mountain bike. The right bike makes a huge difference in the enjoyment you will get out of the activity.

It is a good idea to look for a book that will show you the bike trails near you. When you are ready to go, just put your black helmet and your bike in the car and pick a trail. You can try a new spot each time you head out so you will can enjoy the day even more.

Chances are that you still may want to do some weight training to focus on certain areas where you want to build strength. Whatever else you decide to do for your exercise, try not to get discouraged and let yourself get off track. Like any activity, it is important to keep doing it consistently to make it become a habit.

 

Weight loss has become a relatively monotonous subject that many people simply cannot help but talking about. There are millions of people that find themselves seeking out what they refer to as the perfect body, and always seem to fall short of their quest. These taunts and persistent problems that others cause these teenagers could lead to their destruction.

Not only have teen suicides increased around the globe, teen obesity has as well. In fact, it is not odd to read over reports concerning teens who put on a black helmet of some sort and attempted to jump off of a bridge or hang themselves, because they felt that they would never fit in with what society wanted them to be.

Obesity is a problem that can be rectified. However, a lot of teens figure that the taunting will never end, so in order to end it in their own realms of thinking they take their lives and never get the opportunity to face those that made them feel as if they were nothing. People will constantly be on quests for the perfect body, but this level of perfectionism may never be met.

The influx of commercials and other health reports make obesity seem like the worse thing in the world. The truth is these reports are actually killing our youth, and in the end these reports and high standards are going to kill us as well.
