Have you seen/heard people talk about the benefits of motivational techniques? There are many. You’ve probably heard of weight loss journaling. You’ve probably heard of goal setting. You’ve probably heard of rewards. But there’s one other thing that has to be considered…being nice. What about just being nice to yourself while on the HCG hormone diet?
Sometimes “just being nice” it out of reach. We are just not capable. We’re stuck. We’re in a run and the only thing we can make ourselves aware of is that we know that there are things we want to change or do better or do differently. While we’re focusing on all these things that we are trying to do we forget that we’ve already done something right. You may already be on the HCG hormone diet. That’s something right. It’s a great step. It provides drastic weight loss more often than any other diet on the market. When drastic weight loss is the goal the HCG hormone diet is the most effective diet by which you can achieve this goal.
In the mean time…don’t be too hard on yourself. It’s terrific to have goals. It’s terrific to have big goals. There’s an old saying about aiming for the moon and you’ll land amongst the stars. That is totally true. If you expect yourself to succeed and remember not to lump your efforts/your hard work into one big ball of failure if things don’t end up exactly as planned you will have a much higher chance for eventual success.
Plans do change. We all learn this at a very early age. A “plan” almost never starts and finishes without some sort of mild to drastic deviation occurring. And that’s perfectly natural. Deviating from the plan can sometimes be a minimal swing away from the approved food list. Or it could be a HUGE blunder like deep dish pizza followed by birthday cake and ice cream. We’re all human beings and being human…we make mistakes.
So when you are in the spot where you realize you’ve just deviated from the plan; you’ve made a mistake. Give yourself just a moment to recognize it and then remind yourself of your goals and that you’re on the right track. You just need to turn away from the mistake and focus on your goal again. You’ve got your destination. And you’ve got your plan; get back on it. You’ll have fabulous days and you’ll have rough days. That’s just the nature of the beast.
When you’re in the midst of a rough day remember to tell yourself that tomorrow is a new day; a fresh start. Tell yourself that tomorrow is going to be a fabulous day and then aim for that. The fabulous day you plan on happening might not come to fruition. That plan could be disrupted. And that’s a bummer. But that’s the way it goes. Just know that when you aim for fabulous…it’s much more likely that you’ll get it or that you’ll fall just a little bit short in comparison to the results you’ll get from not aiming at all.
While you are going along on your HCG hormone diet attempt to identify those items, people, place, foods, etc. that seem to inspire a “bad day.” It might be that you just can’t have Oreos in the house; even with the intention of using them strictly for the kids’ school lunches. And that’s fine! The kids will live without Oreos in their lunch for a few weeks. You might find that you can’t go out to eat at your favorite restaurants because even if you decide you’re going to order a salad…you always end up ordering your old favorite dishes instead. It’s not a problem; just tell your friends that you’re not eating out for a month and that if they want to hang out they’ll have to take you to a movie instead.
Take note that encouragement (by definition) is positive. If you notice that your form of “encouraging” yourself is actually to repeat negative comments and opinions to yourself over and over you need to redefine your method as “discouragement” because that would be a more appropriate definition. If you need a mantra…make it positive. For instance, tell yourself over and over how much weight you’ve already lost and how much you are about to lose.
