Kids enjoy playing games: When games are a part of practice sessions, kids look forward to them. The players take part in the sessions with ever increasing enthusiasm and in the spirit of the game. On the other hand, make sure that these soccer games are aimed at developing kid’s soccer skills and nothing else.

Listen to what I say even if you don’t consent. When it comes to soccer drills, it is important that kids are first trained on the basic skills of the game so that they can get a feel of the game. This soccer training should precede the training the kids on more complex components of soccer or the correct method of playing on field.

You as a coach must make it a point that players take their first step in the right direction. For this reason, coach your players on every important soccer skill forming the basis of the game. Given below are a few soccer basics which are essential for all prospective players to learn.

Training the players on dribbling and shooting skills: These are the two very basic skills that players must learn in the game. To become a successful player, these skills have a major role to play in their game. Yet, make all necessary arrangements before hand for teaching these soccer exercises.

Begin with placing several balls over the soccer field and line all the players up in a straight line on one end.

Now signal the players to start. They would then run onto the field, catch a ball with their foot, while dribbling and shooting it into a goal on the opposite end of the field. These two soccer drills will be easily mastered by the players if they practice it regularly.

Passing the ball and following directions: These two soccer skills have the potential to inculcate team spirit in the players. In any case, soccer being a team sport should be uniformly spread among all team mates. It’ll be extremely difficult for the players to play as one team when they can’t follow simple instructions or can’t learn the skill of passing the ball amongst them.

You can use a simple exercise to make the players learn the passing skills and understand your directions. To begin with, line up the entire team in one row at the either end of the field. Place one team member stand in front of the single line at a distance of 5-10 feet.

You’ll signal them to go and the first person in line will attempt to catch the ball from the teammate in the field. As soon as they are told to stop, the player who has the ball would pass it to the player who is first in the line. This soccer practice will teach the players to listen as well as follow your instructions.

Handling the Ball: Being the coach, decide and take time to teach players how to handle the ball using other parts of their body besides their feet. This has the effect of enabling the players to give a more spontaneous performance on field. Do this by making the player’s practice bouncing the ball with their heads and knees, or stopping the ball with their backs.

I’m not sure if you know this but in soccer practice, almost everyone feels that players are born with the physical capacity to play the game. Although the capacity is mostly inherent, the majority of soccer fitness mechanisms can be taught to players to lift up the level of their game to a higher level.

A soccer training schedule should be so developed that the requirements of soccer as a game are duly covered. There are numerous strength training mechanisms on which the game of soccer is based. Swiftness, alertness, stamina, elasticity, power, and control are some of these.

Soccer practice

There’s a simple method for explaining soccer practice; no rules to follow. You can experiment, create your own drills and games, and innovate, and so on.
